A few months ago, the “We Like It Quiet” Tour made a noticed stop in the Big Apple for a sold-out show at the Webster Hall. A pretty dreamy line-up was announced : Nick Santino, The Summer Set and Sleeping With Sirens, reunited on the same stage for a 100% acoustic show! What more could we sincerely ask for? I got lucky enough to be there and it is now time to share my experience !
As expected, when I arrived, I discovered a small venue completely crowded. People were already lining up in front of the different merchandising stands.
Around 8 PM, Nick Santino, ex-member of the band “A Rocket to the Moon” started the festivities with different songs from his first full-lenght album, “Big Skies” followed by a beautiful and simple cover of Nirvana’s biggest hit : “Smell Like Teen Spirit”. A real musical bliss for our ears. The audience seemed to be responsive to his very pleasant musical universe as a massive sing-along started taking place. A couple of songs later, The Summer Set, came on stage. Let’s just say that I was pretty excited to see them perform as they only played once in France, a couple of years ago. I still got to see them play live several times while I was in the US last year, but seeing them play acoustic and in NEW YORK CITY? That was definetly a first! They started their set with the song “Maybe Tonight” from their third album “Legendary”. A confident Brian Dales started talking to the public in order to roughly estimate their level of enthusiasm. Under the screams and applauses, the band performed their biggest hits (“Heart on the Floor”, ‘Boomerang”, “Lightning in the Bottle”…) We even got the chance to discover a new song called “Wasted” as well as an interesting cover of “Sing” by Ed Sheeran. Finally, Sleeping with Sirens arrived on stage. As soon as they appeared, people started screaming loudly, especially girls. The band mostly played songs from their acoutic EP ” :« If You Were a Movie, This Would be Your Soundtrack ». The entire venue was proud to firmly sing every single lyric of their songs. We could not even hear Kellin Quinn’s particular and charming voice. This was definetly a powerful moment to witness!
I brought back home with me some videos of the event as well as a little something from Nick Santino and Stephen Gomez for the French fans. Enjoy 🙂
See you soon on another adventure
