On today’s agenda: a little throwback to Yellowcard’s concert in Paris on March 16th 2015. The show took place at “La Cigale”, one of Paris oldest venues located only a couple of blocks away from the World’s famous Moulin Rouge. This seemed like the ideal spot to spend a great night in the city, right? Well, in addition to this, the line-up was fantastically good: not only did we get to see Yellowcard play but two other bands joined the party: Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! and Less Than Jake. Let’s just say that we were thrilled to be there!
As soon as we arrived, we learned that the concert started earlier… We, unfortunately, missed a part of Chunk! No, Captain, Chunk! set, a hardcore band from France, leaded by the charismatic and dynamic Bertrand Poncet. Following their powerful performance, the band Less Than Jake came on stage, warmly welcomed by an excited audience. The band from Gainsville, Florida surprised us with original and joyful melodies, incorporating perfectly the sounds of trombone and saxophone.
9PM: after a beautiful violin solo perfectly leaded by Sean Mackin, Yellowcard came on stage. Definitely happy to be back in the city of love, the band made us travel through the different tittles of their set-list with efficiency and power. Not only did we get to discover songs from their newest album “Lift a Sail”, released in October 2014, we could also hear a very responsive audience singing every word to Yellowcard’s biggest hits (such as «Only One», «Awakaning» or «Ocean Avenue») with Ryan Key, the singer.
See you soon on another adventure
